The People of Pitco Featuring Jessica Rodriguez

Jessica Rodriguez has spent nearly a decade shaping the rhythm of Pitco’s production floor, and her path shows just how far curiosity can take you. She started in the welding department and now works in the planning department. This month’s featured People of Pitco, Jessica makes sure that everyone has the parts they need and helps solve problems before they hit the line. We sat down to ask her a few questions to get to know her better.

How long have you been with Pitco?

I’ve been here for 9 years!

Tell us about how you’ve grown your career path throughout your time here.

I currently work in the planning department as a Production Planner. Back when I started in 2016, I was a Processor in the welding department, then a couple years in I became a Production Coordinator in the welding department, which was my longest role here at Pitco.

This year I moved into the planning department as a Planner. With my knowledge of the welding department, I’ve been challenged to plan sheet metal for all of manufacturing. No day is dull, and it keeps me on my toes, but I really enjoy what I do!

Describe your responsibilities/on a typical day.

I plan and create jobs for the sheet metal and welding departments, as well as solve any issues that may come about throughout the day.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy the people I work with, and being able to help solve problems.

About 3 or 4 years ago to celebrate Christmas, we decorated the welding booths. I was able to round up enough people to dress up as all of Santa’s reindeers.

What are some hobbies and interests you have outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time at the beach, collecting seashells, watching sunrises and sunsets, crafts like painting and crocheting, kayaking, paddle boarding and axe throwing. I also enjoy spending time with friends, family and fur babies!
