The People of Pitco Featuring Madison Barnes
This month’s People of Pitco spotlight shines on Madison Barnes, whose quiet determination reflects exactly what makes Pitco special. Growing his skills across departments and embracing new challenges along the way, Madison’s path demonstrates how much of Pitco’s strength stems from the people who build, plan, solve, and support. We sat down with him to learn more about his journey, how he contributes to the Pitco process, and what he enjoys doing outside of work.
Where did you start and what paths have you taken since you started?
I started as a temp in 2012 and worked on the Heavy Duty line as a builder. In 2016, when Magikitch’n was here, I worked as a builder and soon became a line leader backup. I was also part of the pilot build for a decorative burner project.

In 2018, I was promoted to line leader for Heavy Duty. I also ran the Anets and Portables line. During this time I also participated in the Culture Committee where I created and implemented the Kudos program.
In 2023, I was promoted to Manufacturing Planner. I was part of the core team for the implementation of the new ERP system. In June of this year, I was promoted to Engineering Document Control where I create new bills of materials and engineering change orders (ECOs). It’s been a great path so far!
How’s your current role going?
It’s very new. I do ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), so any changes for design or parts, anything like that. I update documents, move blueprints around, and update the bill of materials.
What do you enjoy about working at Pitco?
I love the fact that over the years I’ve been able to work with my hands. I like the construction side of things, but I’ve also liked the fact that I’ve been able to move forward and not just stay in one role.
Now, I’ve been able to get into the office side of things and learn more about the business side of Pitco. There’s been a lot of opportunity and a lot of growth for me, and that’s one of my favorite things about Pitco: the sky’s the limit.
What kinds of things do you enjoy outside of work?

I live on the lake and spend most of my time on or around it, swimming, fishing and kayaking in the summer, and ice skating, ice fishing and playing hockey in the winter. I love all things outdoors: hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding and going to the beach.

I also like building and making things. Woodworking is a passion of mine and I like building furniture. I also recently learned how to make soap. I also love cooking in general, and smoking food/meats.
Thanks for talking with us, Madison, and thanks for being a part of the Pitco team!
