The People of Pitco Featuring Thomas Clough

Every piece of equipment that leaves Pitco goes through a rigorous inspection process, and Thomas Clough plays a big part in making sure it meets the mark. As a QC Inspector II focused on inspecting outgoing product, Thomas brings decades of Quality Assurance experience to the job. He’s this month’s featured team member in our People of Pitco series, where we spotlight the folks behind the fryers. Let’s learn a little more about Thomas, both on the floor and off the clock.

Can you describe your current role and responsibilities here at Pitco?

I’m responsible for the overall quality of all final units and parts that go into each completed product. It’s my job to make sure everything that leaves here is something we can be proud of.

How did you find your way into this field?

I spent 25 years in Quality Assurance (QA), covering everything from software to hardware. I started out as a technical support engineer and eventually found my way into QA. I was given the chance to learn, grow, and really sharpen my skills in the field, and I’ve stuck with it ever since.

What do you enjoy most about working with your team?

We all bring the same level of passion to the table. Everyone cares about producing a top-notch product, and we’re quick to support each other whenever needed. It’s a true team effort.

What are some of your interests outside of work?

First and foremost, I love spending time with my grandchildren; that’s what matters most to me. I also enjoy fishing, camping, and I make it a point to go hunting every year.

Any fun facts we should know about you?

I’ve actually applied to be on the CBS tv show Survivor seven times! I never made it on the show, but I did make it to Boston for an audition in front of the cameras. I even tried some pretty wild things to stand out, but no luck.Yet!
